About Us
Vision is a gift - and our passion. Here in the Vision Center at
Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, we believe every child deserves
to see the sunset. The Vision Center - formerly called the Division
of Ophthalmology - is one of the world's largest, most respected
pediatric facilities for eye care, treating more than 12,000 patients
each year. Our patients have such complex ophthalmic abnormalities
such as optic nerve hypoplasia, retinoblastoma, retinopathy of prematurity,
cornea disorders, glaucoma, strabismus and ocular trauma.
As one of Childrens Hospital's Centers of Excellence, we are home
to six institutes that are considered among today's finest resources
for diagnosis, treatment and research:
- the Retina Institute
- the Cornea Institute
- the Eye Birth Defects Institute
- the Orbit & Eye Movement Institute
- the Vision Development Institute
- the Eye Technology Institute
With today's advanced technologies, surgical techniques and other treatment options, eyesight often can be saved. Please allow us to provide you with the most up-to-date information so you can make an informed decision for your child's care.
