Jonathan C. Song, MD
Jonathan C. Song, MD, is director of the Cornea Institute in the
Vision Center at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. He earned his medical
degree, with an interest in biomedical engineering, from the University
of California, San Francisco. After a residency at University of
Southern California/Doheny Eye Institute, he completed two fellowships:
pediatric ophthalmology at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and cornea/refractive
surgery at Doheny Eye Institute. Dr. Song is assistant professor
of clinical ophthalmology and pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine
of the University of Southern California, and recipient of a Keck
teaching award.
His major areas of research include corneal transplantation; pediatric
refractive surgery for anisometropia, in which the two eyes have
an unequal refractive power; prevention of
amblyopia, marked by decreased vision in one eye; and telemedicine.
His professional memberships include the Association for Research
in Vision and Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology,
American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and Pan American
Association of Ophthalmology.
